LaCADIAN: Louisiana Climate and Digital Ag Network to Support Statewide Climate-Smart Digital Agriculture
Sponsor: USDA-NRCS
This project will design and establish LaCADIAN- a distributed network of automated field observatories of in-situ and proximal sensors to record critical-zone water-energy-carbon fluxes in Louisiana. These observations will aid in the monitoring, modeling, and management of Louisiana’s agriculture, energy, biodiversity, soil health and water resources. LaCADIAN will measure a comprehensive set of meteorology, soil hydrology, and hydraulics variables, crop and weed emergence and growth, and productivity to support sustainable climate-smart management practices and digital/precision Ag initiatives.
